Pollard Reading Assignment

For the most part, I found the information in Don’t Make Me Think to be, although valuable and correct, mostly common sense, at least for designers of my generation who have daily interaction with websites, both poorly and well-designed.

One part I found particularly interesting, however, was the section that talked about the different people involved in making a website, and how they all have a different idea of what makes a site successful, or pleasing to the user. It caused me to look at web design from a different perspective than what I’ve been used to, and realize that all the people involved in the process have a valid reason for why they think a site should be a particular way (whether or not they’re correct) In the end, it makes sense that the only way to tell for certain is through testing, and finding out what works best for the particular site in question.
